FinnFest USA '99 Proudly Presents PIKKU PAAVO FUN RUN

This traditional FinnFest event is sure to be a WINNER for all participants and their parents. The event will be held at Denny Field, approximately 200 meters west of the University dormitories. Participants will be grouped into divisions by sex and age, and will be entered in a 50-100 meter race accordingly. All will be recognized as winners by receiving a T-shirt and Pikku Paavo Winner ribbon. WHO IS PIKKU PAAVO??? Undoubtedly, Paavo Nurmi, "The Flying Finn" was once referred to as Pikku Paavo. Perhaps a new Paavo will emerge from this happening during FinnFest USA '99!!! Paavo dominated middle and distance running during the 1920s, and on 25 occasions set world records at distances ranging from 1,500 to 20,000 meters.
