FinnFest USA '99 |

This traditional run will be a pleasure for all runners/walkers. The 5K (3.1 mile) course will encompass the arboreal upper campus of the University of Washington with wonderful vistas of Mt. Rainier and Lake Washington. The course will start (and finish) at the Husky Union Building (HUB), and will descend (and rise) to the lower campus area including a lap around famous Husky Stadium. WHO IS PAAVO NURMI??? "The Flying Finn" dominated middle and long distance running in the 1920s. On 25 occasions Paavo set world standards at distances ranging from 1,500 to 20,000 meters. He also participated in 3 Olympic games achieving 9 Gold and 3 Silver medals.
Read this! I know that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run unless I am medically able and properly trained. I assume all risks associated with running in this event including, but not limited to falls, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, including high humidity, traffic, and conditions of the course. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of acceptance of my entry, I for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release FinnFest USA '99, the City of Seattle, the University of Washington and all agencies, sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims and liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation even though said liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. If participant is under 18: This is to certify that my child has permission to compete in this event, is in good physical condition and that event officials may authorize necessary emergency treatment. NO ENTRY IS VALID WITHOUT SIGNATURE.
