VETERANS’ PROGRAMS
 
at FinnFest USA ’99 in Seattle, July 22-25, 1999

Northwest Finnish Veterans welcome Finnish and American veterans to Seattle in July. Welcome also to the "juniors", those sotilaspojat, pikkulotat, and kotirintamanaiset, which supported the Finnish defense effort 1939-45. We plan at least the following events for you (look for Veteran sign when you check in!):

Special Veterans’ Event
Thursday, July 22,
10 am to noon

A program honoring Veterans with music, sharing of stories, enjoying Finnish coffee and "pulla", and greetings by Colonel Matti Lumme (Finnish Army). Information of interest to Veterans available, such as on Finnish medals.

Opening Ceremony
Thursday, July 22, 4 pm

Veterans are encouraged to participate in the parade leading up to the Opening Ceremony, and will then have reserved seating during the event.

UW HUB Cafeteria
Thursday - Saturday

A table marked "Veterans" where you can meet veterans and other friends for coffee, a snack or just "remember…."
